Vayots Dzor is one of the Southern regions of Armenia. The region is 1000-2300 meters high above sea level.
The most part of its territory is highland without woods and only 20% of the soil is being cultivated. Yeghegia and Arpa rivers flow through the territory of the region. The center of the region Yeghegnadzor is situated on the bank of Arpa river. The town is full of fruit trees. In Yeghegnadzor there are monuments preserved from 1 millennium BC to 17 th century. This region is famous for its historical monuments and several ruins of ancient settlements. |
