The village Mastara is rich of other archeological and architectural monuments. Among them especially notable is a large free-standing khachkar on a rock, covered thinly like a canvas with decorations- 6 th C.
- Marmashen Monastery has four churches. It is constructed of huge stones, some of which are two meters high. An inscription on the south wall of the main church informs that it was built between 986 and 1029 by Prince Vahram Pahlavuni – 13 th cent.

- Lori is located on Armenia ‘s northern border, the largest in area of Armenia ‘s eleven regions. Bounded on all sides by rugged mountains and cut by sheer gorges, Lori is a dramatically beautiful region, sparsely settled except for the valleys of the Pambak, Debed and Dzoraget rivers.
- The Kobayir cloister belongs to a number of remarkable architectural complexes of medieval times, the history of which is closely connected with activities of famous medieval Armenian feudal houses- Kyurikid’s, Bagratid’s and others.
- Odzun is famous for one of the finest Armenian basilicas with a cupola and Funerary monument- 6th cent.
- Haghpat and Sanahin are the largest medieval monasteries of Armenia , under protection of UNESCO- 10th cent. The ensembles of Sanahin and Haghpat stand out not only for the original architecture of religious and especially civil buildings. They are also most instructive as samples of town building art, which show high skill level of Armenian architects.
- Above Sanahin and Haghpat lies the lesser known but very worthwhile fortified monastery of Akhtala with breathtaking frescoes- 10th cent.
