Mt. Aragats Hiking

TOUR DURATION: 10 – 12 hours
TOUR LENGTH: 20 – 22 km
FLUCTUATION OF ALTITUDES: 3207 – 4090m
THE BEST PERIOD: from July to September

DAY 1 – in the evening (16.00pm) the group of the tour participants will depart for the Lake Kari (3207m), where from the group will experience about 1 hour long acclimatization, while climbing nearby hill called Urtsalanj (3320m), afterwards the tour participants will move down to the Lake Kari and hold overnight stay near the Lake, in the pre-settled tent camp.
DAY 2 – Early morning, after the breakfast, the group of the tour participants will move to the South-Western saddle of Aragats, then by pass crater and climb the Northern Summit of the Mount (4090m). The return path from the Northern Summit will lead to the crater and participants will reach the Lake Kari via eastern side of the Southern Summit and will be transported to Yerevan.

The rout is suitable for groups, which need acclimatization. However, the climb of Northern Summit of Aragats requires physically prepared group, as it is quite long and takes 10 – 12 hours. The camp items are transferred by universal vehicle, and subsequently the camp is prepared prior to group’s arrival. The group participants must have their bags envisaged for 0 to 5 temperatures.

Early in the morning (6.30 am) the group of tour participants will be transferred from Yerevan to the Lake Kari (3207m), where from start the climb to the Northern Summit of the Mount. Group participants will move to South-Western saddle of Aragats, then bypass crater and climb Northern Summit of the Mount (4090m). The return path from the Northern Summit will lead to the crater and participants will reach the Lake Kari via eastern side of the Southern Summit and will be transported to Yerevan.

Early in the morning (8.30 am) the group of tour participants will be transferred from Yerevan to the Lake Kari (3207m), where from start the climb to the Southern Summit of the Mount (3879m). The route passes along the flowery meadows and Kari Tsover.
